Wonderful Wordy Wednesday
Hello September, Hello Fall. Although by the weather you wouldn't think of fall. Very warm, very humid, no crisp days of coolness right now. I don't envy the kids who are back in school, dragging themselves through the day with hot temperatures. Wishing they could be outside, not inside.
That time of year to get out an get a library card, although I am sure those of you who read this blog all have a library card. I have probably had a library card since I was six years old, so over 90 percent of my lifetime.
Eaves of Destruction - Lighthouse Cove is having their annual Victoria Home and Garden Tour. Everyone wants to win so Shannon is in demand to get work done. She ends up with a rather bossy client who wants everything done yesterday. To keep up with demand Shannon hires a new carpenter, she does great work, but may have a connection with the client. The wrench in all of this is a building inspector who is into things he shouldn't be and ends up dead.
The Sorbonne Affair - the next Hugo Marston book. Hugo is called in when an American author in Paris to run seminars on writing, finds a hidden camera in her hotel room. Then a hotel staff person is murdered, and one of the author's students is also murdered. Hugo is also attacked but he manages to survive and figure it all out.
The Last Second - A fast paced book in the Brit in the FBI series. A former NASA astronaut is out to prove that aliens do exist, they talk to her, she and they will take over the world and while she is at it blow up the world. This is the last installment of the series, bummer, I like this series. Last book was published in 2019 and I did find a note on one of the author's web pages that this was the last book.
Happy Reading.

Agreed, I'd have enjoyed more of the Brit in the FBI series.
ReplyDeleteTana French has a series about a retired American cop who moves to a small village in Ireland, and there is some fun about the back-and-forth of cultures, but it's not as high-energy.
