Patriot Day

Image
Commemorating the day so many lives were lost in the terrorism attacks in the United States twenty five years ago.   I am sure that those of us who are old enough to remember that day have clear memories of what happened. Not just at the actual sites, but what happened to us during our daily routine. Or rather lack of routine. I remember a hectic and weird day, where I was at work, but didn't actually do much work. Trying to fathom all that occurred and why.  I knew a few people in the airline industry, pilot and flight attendant. Both were safe. Plus a couple of people who were often at the Pentagon, also both safe. Even today thoughts of that day are overwhelming.  Love and hugs to all who were involved.

Things are starting to change, the humidity is dropping as is the temperature. It may be another week before we get what I call nice fall weather. That would be cool not humid.  I was looking at a website I check for sun and moon rising and setting data. At the beginning of the month we had 13 hours and 13minutes of possible daylight. At the end of the month, just 11 hours and 49 minutes! Wow, losing a bunch of daylight in one month. The other night it was so dark out I figured it was bedtime, it was only 8:30!  School is fully in session now for all students. I haven't been out early enough in the morning to see a change in traffic patterns. I know my route to my doctor's office goes by a school, so I try not to schedule things where I get caught in the drop off lines.  Pro football season starts with a game tonight. Plus the end of the baseball season. Good thoughts for the Packers and hoping the Brewers make it to the post season. Less reading time, gotta watch my game...

Happy Birthday Dobby

Dobby is seven, yes 7, years old today. I adopted an older cat this time instead of a young guy around a year old.  He is a bit stubborn, hard to get into a carrier, or give meds to, but I love the dear boy anyway.

Hello September, Hello Fall. Although by the weather you wouldn't think of fall. Very warm, very humid, no crisp days of coolness right now. I don't envy the kids who are back in school, dragging themselves through the day with hot temperatures. Wishing they could be outside, not inside.  That time of year to get out an get a library card, although I am sure those of you who read this blog all have a library card. I have probably had a library card since I was six years old, so over 90 percent of my lifetime.        Eaves of Destruction - Lighthouse Cove is having their annual Victoria Home and Garden Tour. Everyone wants to win so Shannon is in demand to get work done. She ends up with a rather bossy client who wants everything done yesterday. To keep up with demand Shannon hires a new carpenter, she does great work, but may have a connection with the client. The wrench in all of this is a building inspector who is into things he shouldn't be and ends up dead....
