Wonderful Wordy Wednesday
Summer is here. Going to be hot and humid for the next few days with the strong possibility of strong to severe storms. I don't have to be anywhere important, so can keep the car in the garage and way from any hail. I may need to turn on the air conditioning in the house too. I don't do well in high humidity and outside is terrible right now.
We did get a little bit of rain over the weekend, but the grass is not starting to grow. So I can ignore needing to mow the grass for another week. Sort of on an every two week schedule at this point, sort of what I would expect for mid-August.
Did trivia with the gang on Monday. Seven total teams and we ended up in 4th place with a score that is typical of what we get in the mid 60s, total points is usually 82-84. We just enjoy the evening out and visiting with each other. Over the summer we aren't playing as often anyway as we are busy with summer stuff.
The Austen Affair - Tess is an actor who scored a leading role in an adaptation of Northanger Abbey. A lover of all things Jane Austen she is working hard to connect with her leading man. Oh, they do connect, when they both get a large electrical shock. It pushes them into an alternate universe of Regency England where they try to work their way back to the present time.
A Woman of No Importance - the true story of Virginia Hall who didn't want the safe life of marriage in the 1920s. She wanted education and travel and ultimately ended up working behind enemy lines in World War II with the French Resistance. After the war she worked at the CIA.
The Sixth Day - Brit in the FBI book. Miniature weaponized drones, raptors trained to attack, also to save the miniature drones. Six days of a crazed man looking to take down The Queen, PM and the US President.
Happy Reading.
