Wonderful Wordy Wednesday

Our dry weather continues, and most of my lawn is crunchy. I did even off the bits where it was growing the past few days. That should keep things looking decent for the next 10-14 days. I saw one property where they were watering? Why, then you have to mow. Grass goes dormant during periods like this and will perk up again when we do get rain. My yard is not a golf course.

Dobby managed to give a a large scratch on my foot. He jumped in the shower as I was trying to get out. Lost his balance and in jumping out got my foot. Just a scratch, long, ugly, but it will heal. No pictures here.

Otherwise just watching baseball games, reading and generally taking it easy.

The Reading List - a list of eight books found in another book. Someone lost their reading list? But it is a list that makes its way through the community and brings people together through their love of reading and stories.

6:40 to Montreal - Agatha is an author and is working on her second book. Her husband books her a train trip from Toronto to Montreal and back to give her 6 hours of uninterrupted writing time. Yeah, right. Even in business class too many nosy people, the train gets stopped because of a blizzard and then things start happening to some of the other passengers. A death, a medical emergency and someone who has it out for Agatha.

Five Found Dead - Twins Joe and Meredith are celebrating Joe's successful cancer treatment. As a treat and for inspiration for Joe's next book they are taking the Orient Express from Paris to Istanbul. After boarding and meeting some of the other passengers, the twins discover that a bit of mayhem and murder are occurring. Fun read, lots of twists and after some research it is bleeping expensive to take this train!

The Little Paris Bookshop - a very poignant story of lives, lovers, books, letters unread. From a bookshop on a barge on the Seine in Paris to the south of France. Intermingling of time over twenty years.

 I had this happen once. I liked the book but didn't want to get into the series, so I just went to the library, found the next book and read the first chapter or two. See how much damage, if any, a bomb made.

Happy Reading.

  1. book two sounds interesting…reminds me of the train one could take to chicago and back;
    years ago. the passengers got on and it was up to them to solve a murder mystery. certain
    people were picked. ( not sure how. ) to be the victim, killer, etc.
