Wonderful Wordy Wednesday
Hello and No Fooling. Here is the updated separate blog for just books and yarn and what ever else I get into. The Just Ducky blog will remain as an archive for all things. I do get nostalgic for the early days with the boys sometimes and just go back and read posts.
Dobby is settled in and has the run of the entire house now. He continues to sleep at the end of my bed every night. He plays with small toys that he can bat around and pounce on.
Weather is getting better. We get one really nice day followed by typical temperatures for the season. Birds are singing, the chipmunks are out of hibernation. Flowers are starting to grow and bloom.
With nicer weather means I have things I should be doing outside, like picking up fallen branches from the trees. Cutting back old growth on various plants as well. Should get the lawn mower to the shop to get the blade sharpened. Grass isn't grown enough for mowing, but then I am prepared. Haven't swapped the snow blower and lawn mower just yet. We could always get a late snow!
Witches of Dubious Origin - is the first of a new series by Jenn McKinlay. It follows the adventures of Zoe Ziakas who finds out she is the last descendant of a line of witches when she receives an old grimoire that belonged to her mother. Personally I am not that much into fantasy and probably won't read any of the future books. I do like her other series and will read those if she writes more of those.
Atmosphere - from one of my favorite authors, Taylor Jenkins Reid. Set in the early 1980s, new class of astronauts, men and women. The relations between family, friends, colleagues, loves with a major flight incident to pull it all together.
This Way Up - a humerus look at maps. How they can mess us up, forget things and generally make our lives crazy. First example, where maps were being sold that had forgotten New Zealand. Then numerous other examples of craziness. Just a reminder, don't completely trust your GPS directions.
Happy Reading.

Hello! Dobby is looking well and I always like your book funnies!
ReplyDeleteWelcome to your new blog to the blogging world! Happy to see Dobby Is also a part of it
ReplyDeleteOh, I am putting "This Way Up" on my TBR pile immediately!
ReplyDeleteDobby is a handsome dude.
It's certainly a problem when I'm going somewhere where I may have to wait. I always take a second book if I'm close to the end of the first one - wouldn't wanna be sitting doing nothing!
